Cuttlebone Casting - Pendant 1 Day - 18th August
Workshop Date: Sunday 18th August 9am - 5pm
Workshop Location: Bendigo City (full address details will be emailed to you after booking)
Join us for this 1 day workshop on cuttlebone casting. This technique of casting has been used for centuries and is a fast and easy process that you can do at home! We will run through how you can create your own pendant in a matter of minutes!
In this one day workshop you will learn how to create a carving in the cuttlebone using various tools and impression techniques, carve a pouring channel for liquid silver to be poured through and clean up your casting to reveal its very own unique pattern. We will explore creating a simple bail which will be the mechanism by which your pendant will hang. Your teacher, Dan Cox, will guide you through techniques in polishing and finishing your design that you will be able to take home and show off to all your friends!
What to Bring: All you need to bring with you is yourself, your notebook and your willingness to learn, we will take care of the rest! Yes, that's right. We provide tea/coffee, biscuits and cheeses, lunches and snacks to keep you fuelled up and ready to go. Just let us know if you require any special dietary needs and we will do the rest!
